Ride767 Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

This policy explains what information Ride767 keeps about you, why, who can see it, and how long we keep it. It covers the Ride767 web app at ride767.com.

The short version

  • We keep only what a ride needs. Your name, your phone number, your email, and your rides (where and when). For drivers, also photos of three documents, your plan details and your latest location while online.
  • Sign-in codes come by WhatsApp or email. We never send sign-in codes by text message.
  • Drivers share their location only while they are online in driver mode with the screen open. It stops when they go offline.
  • A passenger sees their driver on the map only during their ride: from the moment they agree to the driver's fare until the ride ends. Never before, never after.
  • Drivers do not see a passenger's live location. They see the pickup point you chose, and your name and phone number once you agree to their fare.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.
  • Some companies help us run Ride767, like Amazon (hosting), Meta (WhatsApp) and Stripe (driver card payments). They get only what their job needs.
  • You can delete your account at any time at ride767.com/delete-account.

Who we are

Ride767 is run by Burjul LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (registration 0450463128), 75 N Grove St, East Orange, NJ 07017, USA. Burjul LLC decides how your information is used (it is the "controller"). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company. "You" means anyone who uses Ride767. A "Hired Vehicle" is a vehicle registered in Dominica to carry passengers for hire. Its number plate begins with "H".

To ask us anything about your information, email privacy@ride767.com.

What we collect

From everyone

  • Your phone number. Your phone number is your account. We need it for every account, because it is how a driver and passenger reach each other when the data signal is poor.
  • Your email address. We ask for it when you sign up. We use it only to send you sign-in codes and to confirm your account. It is never your account name.
  • Your name, which you type in when you first sign in.
  • Whether you are a passenger or a driver.
  • Whether you have confirmed your phone and email. You must confirm both with a code within 24 hours of signing up. If you don't, you can still sign in, but you cannot book or take rides until you do.
  • Which version of our terms you agreed to, and when. We record it when you create your account, and again if you agree to new terms.
  • Your notification address, only if you turn on notifications. This is a web address your browser gives us so we can send you alerts.

From passengers

  • Each ride you book: the pickup and drop-off points on the map, their place names (when the point is a known place), the fare the driver offered, the times the ride moved from step to step (including when the fare was offered and when you agreed), the drivers who handed it back or whose fare you declined, and who cancelled it and why.

From drivers

  • Your location, while you are online. See Location.
  • A photo of your face, taken with your phone's front camera, and a photo of your driving licence. An admin looks at the two side by side to check the licence is yours. That is a person comparing by eye: we do not use face recognition or any automatic face matching, and we do not make a face template or any measurement of your face. When you accept a ride, your passenger is shown your face photo so they know it is you. Once you are approved you can change your photo at any time: an admin checks the new one first, and passengers keep seeing your current photo until it is approved. A new photo that is not approved is deleted.
  • Your vehicles: for each one, its number plate, colour, make and model, and photos of its registration and its insurance. You can have more than one. An admin checks each vehicle against its photos before you can drive it.
  • Which vehicle you are driving when you go online, and, on each ride you accept, a record of that car (plate, colour, make and model).
  • Your driver check result: pending, approved or not approved.
  • Your subscription: your plan (weekly, monthly or complimentary), its price and status, the dates it covers, whether it is set to end, and the reference numbers Stripe gives us.
  • Your payments: for each card payment, the amount, currency, status (paid, refunded or disputed), the dates it covers and Stripe's invoice number.
  • For a complimentary plan: which admin gave it, the reason they gave, and when it ends, if it does.
  • The rides you accept, as described above for passengers.
  • Your drivers' association. Our system has a place to record it. The app does not ask for it today, and we do not share driver information with any drivers' association.

When you report a problem

You can report a problem with a ride you were on, from the ride screen or after it ends: you choose what happened and can add a few words. We keep the report with a copy of what we need to look into it later: which ride (its place names and time), the car recorded on it, and the name and phone number of you and of the other person. Ride767's team reads it. We do not tell the other person that they were reported, or by whom. A report is not sent to the police; if you are in danger, call the emergency number.

"Share my ride" and the emergency button

  • Share my ride opens your phone's own sharing (or WhatsApp) with a message you send yourself: your driver's first name, the car and its plate, the place names and the time. It has no map position and no phone number in it. We do not send it and do not keep a copy; whoever you send it to can keep it.
  • The emergency button opens your phone's dialler with the emergency number. It does not send us anything.

What we do not collect

  • No passwords. You sign in with a code.
  • No card numbers. Stripe handles those.
  • No passenger tracking. We never follow a passenger's location.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics service.

How we collect it

  • You give it to us: your phone number, email and name, the points you pick on the map, the photos you take of your face and your documents, and your vehicles' details.
  • Your phone gives it to us, only after you say yes: your location, and a notification address. Your browser asks you first, and you can say no.
  • Other companies give it to us: Stripe tells us when a payment works, fails or is refunded. WhatsApp and Amazon's email service tell us whether they accepted a code for delivery.
  • We create some of it: ride times, ride status, your driver check result, and records of codes sent.

Why we use it

InformationWhat we use it for
Phone numberYour account. Sending WhatsApp codes. Letting the other person on your ride call you.
EmailSending codes by email. Confirming your account.
NameShowing the other person on your ride who to look for.
Ride detailsFinding you a driver, showing you the driver's fare offer, showing the ride to both of you, and measuring how quickly rides are accepted and finished.
Driver locationSending rides to drivers near the pickup point. Showing a passenger where their driver is.
Driver documentsChecking that a driver may drive a Hired Vehicle, and that the licence is theirs.
Driver's face photoAn admin compares it with the licence, by eye. The passenger of a ride the driver accepted sees it, so they get into the right car.
Vehicle details and photosChecking each vehicle a driver drives. Showing the passenger which car to look for.
The car recorded on a rideShowing which car came, if anything about the ride is questioned later.
ReportsLooking into problems on rides, acting on them (for example removing a driver or closing an account), and answering a police enquiry or an insurance claim.
Subscription and paymentsCharging for plans, showing drivers their plan, and deciding which drivers can go online.
Notification addressTelling drivers about new rides, and telling passengers when a driver offers a fare and when their driver has arrived. The arrival alert names the car and its plate. It never contains a photo.
Logs and error reportsKeeping accounts safe, stopping abuse, and fixing problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Decisions the app makes on its own

  • If you have not confirmed your phone and email within 24 hours of signing up, the app stops you booking or taking rides until you do.
  • A driver whose plan has ended or not been paid cannot go online.
  • A driver can go online only in a vehicle an admin has approved, and cannot switch vehicles during a ride.
  • A request no driver takes within 5 minutes is cancelled.

People, not the app, decide whether a driver and each of their vehicles is approved. No software compares your face with your licence: an admin does, by eye. If you think one of these decisions is wrong, email support@ride767.com and a person will look at it.

Who can see it in the app

Ride767 has three kinds of account. Our database rules decide what each one can see. These rules are checked by the server, not just the screen.

  • Passengers see their own profile and their own rides, including a driver's fare offer. During a ride (from the moment they agree to the fare until the ride ends), they also see the driver's name, phone number, face photo, the car (colour, make, model and number plate) and its position on the map. Before they agree, and after the ride ends, they see none of these. The face photo is sent as a link that stops working 10 minutes after it is given; a phone may keep a copy it has already shown.
  • Drivers see their own profile, plan, payments, location, face photo and vehicles, and the car recorded on each ride they drove. While a ride is waiting for a driver, online drivers nearby see its pickup point and place names, but not who booked it. Once a driver offers a fare, they see the ride's details; if the passenger declines, they no longer can. During the ride (once the passenger agrees) they see the passenger's name and phone number. After the ride ends, the driver can still see that ride's details, including its exact pickup and drop-off points and the passenger's account number (a code, not a name), but no longer the passenger's name or phone number. This lasts as long as the passenger keeps their account. After the passenger deletes it, the driver sees the points rounded to about 1 km.
  • Admins can see all profiles, rides, driver locations, subscriptions and payments, vehicles, the car recorded on each ride, and every report, and can view driver documents and face photos. Nobody but an admin sees a report about them: passengers and drivers see only the reports they made. They approve each vehicle separately, and are shown when two accounts carry the same number plate (a shared car is allowed). On their dashboard they can open any passenger's or driver's rides: when and where, the fare, who the other person was, and how each ride ended. They approve or reject drivers, give complimentary plans, and can delete accounts. Only Ride767 staff are admins. Nobody outside Ride767, such as a drivers' association, is an admin. Every complimentary plan, and every account an admin deletes, needs a written reason. A complimentary plan's reason is kept with the plan. A deletion's reason is kept in our server logs for 30 days.

People on our technical team who look after our AWS account can also reach the stored data, including your email address.

The app shows a phone number only while the ride is happening. If the other person calls you, your number stays in their phone's call history, and we cannot remove it from there.

Location

Passengers

  • We only use your location if you tap "Use my location". Your browser asks you first.
  • We use it to put your pickup pin on the map. We save a pickup point only when you book a ride. The pickup and drop-off points of your rides are saved exactly, so over time they may show places you go often, such as your home. Your driver can see them for rides they took you on (see Who can see it in the app).
  • We never track a passenger's location during a ride.
  • Your phone remembers where you last looked on the map, so the map opens in the same place next time.

Drivers

  • Your location is shared only while you are online in driver mode with the screen open. Web browsers cannot share location in the background, so when the screen is off or you switch apps, sharing stops.
  • While you carry a passenger, your phone sends your position up to every 5 seconds, when you have moved at least 20 metres.
  • While you are online and waiting, up to every 15 seconds, when you have moved at least 50 metres.
  • If you have not moved, your phone still sends your position about once a minute, so we know you are still online. It also sends it at once when you go online or start a trip.
  • When you go offline, your phone stops sending your location completely. If you close the app or your phone switches off without going offline first, we switch you offline once we have heard nothing from your phone for 30 minutes (6 hours during a trip). Your last position is then deleted like any other.
  • We keep only your latest position, not a trail of where you have been. Each new position replaces the last one.
  • Your passenger sees your position only during their ride: from when they agree to your fare until the ride is finished, cancelled or closed. While your offer waits for their answer, they cannot see it. Our admins can see the latest position of every driver.

Companies that help us

We share information with these companies only so they can do a job for us.

Notifications show on your phone's screen. A new-ride alert for a driver shows the pickup place name, and so does the alert that a passenger agreed to their fare. A passenger's alert shows the fare a driver offered.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

If Ride767 moves to another company, such as a company set up in Dominica to run it, or is sold or merged, your information moves with it. We will tell you before that happens, and this policy keeps applying until the new company publishes its own.

Where your data is stored

Our servers are in the United States, in Amazon's us-east-1 region. If you use Ride767 in Dominica or anywhere else, your information is sent to and stored in the United States. The companies listed above may also process it in other countries.

If data protection law where you live gives you more rights

Burjul LLC is the controller of your information. Our reasons for using it are:

  • To provide the service you asked for: your account, rides, driver checks, plans and payments.
  • Your consent: your device's location and notifications. You can withdraw it at any time in your browser settings.
  • Our legitimate interests: keeping the service safe (logs, limits on codes), measuring how well it works (rides kept after an account is deleted), and our staff overseeing drivers.
  • The law: where we must keep or share information.

You can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

How long we keep it

InformationHow long
Your account: phone, email, name, role, notification addressUntil you delete your account
Rides you booked as a passengerUntil you delete your account. Then we keep the ride with your account removed from it and its pickup and drop-off points rounded to about 1 km. The times, distance, fare and place names stay.
Rides you droveKept in the passenger's history. If you delete your account, the ride stays with nothing that links it to you. If the passenger deletes theirs, the ride stays in your history with the passenger's account removed and its points rounded to about 1 km.
A driver's location while onlineOnly the latest position, replaced each time a new one arrives
A driver's location after going offlineSet to be deleted 24 hours after you go offline. Amazon's system usually removes it within a few days after that. It is also deleted at once if you delete your account.
A driver's location if the app was closed without going offlineSwitched offline after 30 minutes with no update from your phone (6 hours during a trip), then deleted the same way
Driver documents, face photo and vehicle photosUntil you delete your account. If you are not approved, we delete them all 90 days after the last photo you sent, unless you send new ones before then: sending a new photo starts the 90 days again. Every copy is deleted. A vehicle's photos are also deleted when you remove that vehicle.
Your vehicles' detailsUntil you remove the vehicle or delete your account
The car recorded on a rideThree years after the ride ends, then removed from the ride by a daily job; kept that long even if the driver deletes their account. It is a car, not a person: no name, photo or phone number.
Driver check resultUntil you delete your account
Reports about a rideThree years from the day of the report, then deleted by a daily job. A report we hold for a police enquiry or an insurance claim is kept until the hold ends, then three years from that day. Kept even if the person who made it, or the person it is about, deletes their account.
Subscription, payment and complimentary-plan recordsUntil you delete your account. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own rules.
Sign-in codesA code works for 10 minutes. We never store the code itself, only a scrambled copy, and only during the sign-in.
Record of codes sentA scrambled copy of your phone number and email, with the times of recent codes. Set to be deleted an hour after your last code. Amazon's system usually removes it within a few days after that.

What's stored on your phone

Ride767 keeps a few things in your browser's storage on your phone:

  • Your sign-in. This keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out removes it.
  • The app itself and map pictures, so the app opens quickly and still shows a map when you lose signal. The app keeps up to 400 map pieces for up to 7 days.
  • Where you last looked on the map.
  • A finished trip waiting for signal (drivers only): if you finish a trip with no signal, the app saves it and sends it when you are back online.
  • Whether you closed the "add to home screen" tip.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.

When you delete your account, the app signs you out on that phone, and forgets where you last looked on the map and any finished trip waiting for signal. Any other phone you used Ride767 on keeps these until you clear this site's data in its browser settings.

Keeping your data safe

  • Sign-in codes are 6 random digits that work for 10 minutes. We store only a scrambled copy, and we never write codes in our logs. You get 3 tries per code, and no more than 5 codes an hour.
  • Database rules on the server control who can read and change what, as described in Who can see it in the app.
  • Driver documents never pass through anyone's browser storage. Drivers upload them through a link that works for 5 minutes. Admins view them through a link that works for 15 minutes.
  • Card numbers go straight to Stripe. We never see them.
  • Stored data: Amazon encrypts the database and file storage we use by default.
  • Our sign-in system hides most of each phone number and email address in its logs.
  • Error reports, if we switch them on, have map positions and full web addresses removed on your phone, before they are sent.

No system is perfectly safe. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you without undue delay, and no later than 30 days after we confirm it, by email from privacy@ride767.com and in the app. We will say what happened, what information was involved, and what you can do. Where the law requires it, we will also tell the authorities.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • See your information, and get a copy. Your profile, plan and payments are in the app. For a copy of your data, including your rides, email us at privacy@ride767.com. We will check that the request comes from you and send it within 30 days, in a common file format you can keep or give to another service.
  • Ask us to stop or limit a use of your information. Email us and we will tell you within 30 days what we can do. Some uses, like keeping a ride's details while it is happening, are needed to run the service.
  • Correct it. You can change your email in the app. To change your name or phone number, email us.
  • Delete it. See Deleting your account.
  • Turn off location. Use your browser's settings. Passengers can still book by moving the pin by hand. Drivers cannot go online without sharing location.
  • Turn off notifications. Use your browser's settings. Drivers then need to keep the app open to see new rides. Passengers will not be alerted when a driver offers a fare, but the app still shows it.
  • Ask us a question or make a complaint by email. We will reply within 30 days. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority where you live.

Before we act on a request, we may need to check that it really comes from you.

Deleting your account

Go to ride767.com/delete-account, sign in, and type DELETE to confirm. You cannot delete your account during a ride. Finish or cancel the ride first.

What we delete:

  • Your sign-in, phone number and email
  • Your name and profile
  • Your link to the rides you booked, and their exact pickup and drop-off points
  • For drivers: your face photo and documents, your vehicles and their photos, your location, your plan and its payment records

If you pay for a plan by card, we cancel it first, so you are never charged again. We also delete your customer record at Stripe.

What we keep, and why:

  • Rides you booked stay, with your name, phone number and account removed: the place names, a pickup and drop-off rounded to about 1 km, the times, the distance, the fare and how the ride ended. We use them to measure how well the service works, and your driver keeps them in their history. This is not complete anonymity: your driver may remember the ride, and for up to 30 days our server logs can still connect it to your old account number.
  • Reports made about a ride you were on, by you or about you, stay for their full period (see How long we keep it) with the names and phone numbers they recorded. Otherwise deleting an account would be a way to erase a complaint, and a police enquiry or a claim would have nothing to go on. For the same reason we do not delete a report on request while it is within that period, including one about you. Large ride-hail services do the same with incident records. You can still write to privacy@ride767.com and a person will look at your request; to protect the person who made a report, we may not be able to tell you whether one exists.
  • Rides you drove stay in your passengers' history, with nothing that links them to you as a person. Each one keeps the car that came (number plate, colour, make and model), because that is what a complaint, a police enquiry or an insurance claim about a past ride needs. It does not include your name, photo or phone number. A number plate can identify a car's owner through other records, which is why we keep it only on the rides themselves.
  • Stripe keeps its own record of card payments and invoices.
  • Server logs are kept for 30 days. They record that your account was deleted.
  • The record of codes sent (a scrambled copy of your phone number and email) is set to delete itself an hour after your last code, and is usually gone within a few days.
  • Your old account number may remain in records of rides you handed back as a driver. Without your account, it points to nobody.

Deleting is permanent. We cannot bring an account back.

One known gap: if a copy of your sign-in was saved somewhere before you deleted your account, it keeps working against our servers for up to one hour. It cannot reach any of your deleted information.

Admins can also delete an account, for example one that breaks our Terms of Service. They must give a reason, which we keep in our server logs for 30 days.

Children

Ride767 is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information about children under that age. If you think a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at ride767.com/privacy and change the effective date at the top. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect.
